R2 2025 Release
This Release Outline provides an overview of all updates that are included in the upcoming release. With this Outline, a new customer preview environment has been provided to you for you to access and review the new features. This environment can be accessed at https://comingsoon.4castplus.com.
As with all our pre-release environments, please remember to refresh your browsers each time you log into the environment. Additionally, Custom Reports in the comingsoon environment are samples only. Please upload the templates from your Live System, for any Custom Reports that you wish to review.

Performance, Usability and User Interface Updates
We are preparing to release a set of enhancements aimed at delivering a more efficient, intuitive, and visually consistent user experience.
Performance Improvements: Optimizations across the platform will deliver faster load times, improved system responsiveness, and greater overall stability.
Usability Enhancements: Key workflows and interactions have been refined to reduce friction, improve accessibility, and support a more seamless user journey.
User Interface Updates: A modernized design with updated layouts and visual elements will offer improved clarity, consistency, and ease of use.
Configuration
This release saw a great many improvements in how the system is configured. Including additional custom field for Workpackages, enhancements to allow for Labor and Project custom fields to be identified as Header or Detail fields, additional and extended options for notifications, tracking of Effective Date changes for Taxes, and more. This release also introduces an update to the resource database design structure to remove Cost Code and Tag Number from the equipment and materials databases, introduce Equipment ID to the equipment database and introduce Part Number (internal) to the equipment and materials databases.
Projects
Numerous enhancements were added in this release to project management features, including performance optimizations in the Budget Revision and Progress Measurement features. The Project Profile includes an addition of Project Addresses in the profile to allow for project personnel to identify key address and contact data for Procurement, Billing and Transmittals. On the WBS side, we’ve added in a ‘Refresh Dates’ feature into the Actions menu, enhanced the date control in the WBS to auto-update Rollup Workpackage dates from the Deliverable dates and added in Custom Fields to both the UI and the Import. The Billing feature includes some relabelling of data in the header, new fields added into the Transactions grid, along with improved visibility into the individuals assigned into the Approval workflow. Change Management includes an update to provide more visibility into the individuals in the Approval workflow, along with the ability to Bypass Approval.
Budget, Budget Revisions, Forecasts & Progress Measurements
This upcoming release introduces key enhancements to project financial and performance tracking, aimed at improving accuracy, control, and visibility.
Budget: Streamlined tools for creating and managing cost and quantity estimates, with improved alignment to project scope and structure.
Budget Revisions: Enhanced support for budget adjustments, including version control, auditability, and more flexible approval workflows.
Forecasting: Improved forecasting capabilities to better predict costs and progress trends, enabling proactive decision-making.
Progress Measurements: More robust tools for capturing, validating, and reporting physical and financial progress across all project phases.
These updates will help teams maintain tighter control over project performance, ensure financial integrity, and support informed, data-driven planning.
Procurement
4castplus project procurement area received a significant amount of updates, new features, defect fixes, etc. in this release. This release sees an exciting new feature – Milestone Planning, a new Requisition Summary Report, a complete redesign of the Purchase Order Revision Feature, a new Expediting Reports and an updated Timeline Report. Performance optimizations include improved loading time in the RFQ Items, Purchase Order Items, Purchase Order Print and Receiving > Purchase Order items grids.
Jobsite / Timesheet
This release introduced an extension of our Transmittals feature to the 4castplus Customer Portal, allowing you to electronically submit your Daily LEMS/Reports to your Customer for review and approval. With complete tracking, notifications, and monitoring of approval status and invoicing readiness.
Approvals & Administration
In this release, we see the introduction of the Delegate Approval workflow to the ‘Reports To Supervisor’ Labor Timesheet approval routing option.
Vendor Invoice
Vendor Invoicing in 4castplus streamlines the process of capturing, reviewing, and managing vendor invoices in one central place. It helps ensure accurate cost tracking, improved visibility into committed and actual costs, and a smoother workflow between vendors, project teams, and finance.
Project and Program Reporting
Several new reports, many new fields, key report upgrades and a few defect fixes were achieved in the project & program reporting area.
Custom Reports
The custom reporting features received a great deal of attention this release to provide more reports, more fields and a few bug fixes to improve usability and performance.
Documents
Preview the upcoming document features and enhancements. It gives users early visibility into what’s being developed, what to expect next, and how future document capabilities will support better project tracking, collaboration, and reporting.

Performance, Usability and User Interface Updates
- Updated the workflow for users that have Approval access only, when they login they will open to the Approvals screen.
API / Integrations
- Opened up the Customer Invoice API to enable Third Party to pull from 4castplus.

Management of Change
- Added Manage Change Stages in Configuration.
Procurement Fields
- Added the Procurement Milestone Planning in Configuration > Manage Codes and fields > Procurement. This allows the user to configure the Milestones used by the Company.

Vendor Invoices
- Added the ability to edit a Vendor Custom Field in Purchase Order and Vendor Invoice.
- Added Vendor Invoice Item Custom field in Configuration to be included in Vendor Invoice Items transactions.
Procurement
- Added the ability to Activate / Inactivate a Custom Procurement Item field in the grid without opening the Edit window.
Manage Resources
Labor
- Add a workflow to re-assign the Project Manager role upon Labor Termination or Inactivation; re-assigning applies to Active, In Bidding and Waiting to Start Projects. When a user is terminated / Inactivated the company will no longer be required to re-assign on Completed and Inactive Projects.
- Updated the Supervisor field to only be mandatory if Timesheet Approval workflow is enabled.
Vendors
- Optimized the Configuration > Manage Resources > Vendors > Vendor Detail transaction report.
- Added a Duplicate workflow in Vendor > Labor tab.
- Removed Expenses and Other Charges as an option in Vendor Classes; this workflow was obsolete.
Permissions
- When Manage Folder Permission is disabled, removed the ability to create and edit a Program
- Updated and added Vendor Invoice Permissions for each section and View Only.
- Updates to Procurement Permissions to support View-only licenses.
- Defect Fix: Timesheet Entry user with permission to upload Documents is not seeing the Document section in the User Interface.
- Defect Fix: User with the Create and Update Purchase Order permission disabled can edit Purchase Order Line items. The update prevents editing of the entire Purchase Order.
Rates Administration
- Usability update to the Resource Class Cost Rate Table when the table is saved.
Workflows
- Updated formatting on Configuration> Worflows> Expand the side menu > Select the ‘Jobsite Timesheet’ Workflow > to Excel

WBS
- Optimized the Update WBS item workflow.
- Optimized the WBS for load performance improvements.
- Updated the WBS drag and drop sensitivity to reduce the risk of accidental movement.
- Align the WBS workflow filtering behavior to the Progressing filtering behavior.
- Added the ability for a Company to define the size of the Projects WBS grid in Company Preferences.
- Added a new display permission for Vendor Invoices in the WBS user interface and WBS import. When the permission is enabled, the user can select the workpackage in Vendor Invoices > Third party Expenses and Direct to Invoice ‘Add Item’ workflow.
- Added a Control in the WBS that prevents changing the Billing Type from Unit Price to Cost Plus if there exists Progress transactions.
- Defect Fix: Updates to Baseline Start and Finish Date completed via WBS import were not being reported in the Project Audit Log.
- Defect fix: Planned Daily Average Units is not recalculated when Dates change.
WBS Import
- Added the following columns to the WBS user interface and WBS Import:

Resource Reports
- Equipment Resource Report – Equipment Code added in UI but not Project Resource Report.

- Prevent the ability to upload a document on a Closed Purchase Order through the Vendor Portal
- Added a configurable notification called ‘Purchase Order Bypass Approved’ to be sent to the Project Manager by default when a Purchase Order has been Bypass Approved.

PO Item Allocation grid
- Added the following system Milestones Dates to the PO Item Allocation User Inferface, Export to Excel and PO Import:

Payment Schedule
- Updated the Payment Schedule Revision workflow, the user will no longer be able to Commit a Revision without updating the Payment Schedule for the PO or PO Line item. The system will present a suggested allocation when the Payment Schedule is edit and the user can edit as required.
- Updated date behavior in the PO > Payment Schedule, when the Scheduled date is updated the Forecasted date is updated.
- Update the PO > Payment Schedule Holdback Payment event total Allocation calculation when Milestone Receipts selected to be generated. Holdback Milestone Receipts will not generate and will not be included in the PO Spend Forecast.
- Updated the behabior of the Payment Schedule upon Revision.
- Added the ability to auto generate a Milestone receipt when the Actual Date is in the future.
- Added Spend – Actual column in the PO Payment Schedule. The Actual Date will populate in the PO Spend Forecast report as entered or auto-populated.
- Added the ability to add a Payment Schedule at a Purchase Order level.
- Added the Payment (Scheduled) and Payment (Forecasted) to the PO Cashflow Report Detail tab.
- Added the ability to generate a Payment Schedule and auto-generate Milestone Receipts at the PO Line item level. The system will generate a receipt consolidating all line items with the same Actual Date on the specific Milestone.
RFQ
- Update Bid Close Date (Actual) to populate when Bid Close Date is in the past; in reports and UI.
- Added Area and Phase columns to the RFQ Add Item workflow.
- Added workflow to transfer Requisition header Milestones to RFQ header when using the Add to RFQ workflow.
- Added workflow upon RFQ Award to PO to transfer the RFQ Header Milestone Dates to the PO Milestone Planning section.
Expediting
- Expediting Target sort order has been set to a default order when the Company has not overridden the order pre-release.
- Update: A Progress Bar has been added to Procurement Expediting Import Workflows.
- Updated Expediting Target default order if they have not already been set in the live system.
- Updated the Expediting workflow to optimize performance. The items listing is now paged and only 5 items are displayed at a time.
- Added new Expediting Milestone: Kick-Off Meeting Date (Forecasted) and Kick-Off Meeting Date (Scheduled).
- Added the following system Expediting Milestones and Targets to the Expediting Milestone Planning, Detail grid, and Intelligent Import.
- Added a Milestone Planning section in Expediting Purchase Order Header.
- Added Expediting Milestone Planning section fields to the Update Details workflow in the Expediting Details grid.
- Added the following fields to the Expediting Detail grid and Intelligent Import file:
- Materials Receipt Report (MRR) Due Date (Scheduled) / (Forecasted) / (Actual)

Recieving
- Added Packing Slip Number column.
- Added Milestone Receipts for Milestone Progress Payments. A receipt is auto-generated when the Milestone Actual Dates are entered.
- Added a system email when a Milestone Receipt fails to generate.
When the validation fails:- Send the validation message to the PO buyer.
- If the PO Buyer is not set up or does not have an email, then send the email to the Project Manager.
- Added the ability to Progress using Milestone Receipts and Receive physical Quantities in PO Receipts and Subcontract Receipts without incuring costs. Costs are incurred through the Milestone Receipt and Quantity is incurred through PO Receipts.
- Added a new tab in Procurement Receiving called ‘Milestone Receipts’; receipts in this workflow will auto-generate based on the Milestones set up in the Purchase Order Payment Schedule. When the Milestone is completed (Actual Dates populated) the receipt is created but then can be modified by the user as required.
- Update the Subcontract Receiving > Time and Material Receipt > Edit workflow for Expenses so that Resource = Vendor Name and Expense Description field is added and can be edited.
- Usuability update to Receiving workflows to display a Progress Bar while the Receipt is being saved.
- Defect Fix: Whoops when importing multiple files on a Time and Material Subcontract. The update prevents the ability to select multiple import files.

Jobsite
- Optimized the Jobsite Timesheet Save performance.
- Added ability to approve a Transmittal via email.
- Added a Transmittal Package Print to PDF that transfers automatically to Billing using the Jobsite timesheet Billing Mode.
- Defect Fix: Whoops when an Administrator selects unapproved on an Approved Jobsite Timesheet; the Unapprove workflow is used to Unapprove Administrative Approvals only.
- Defect fix: Vendor Invoice Matching Revenue Adjustments were not referencing the Jobsite Timesheet number in the Custom Templated Billing Transaction datasets.
Transmittals
- Update to prevent Unapprove in Jobsite Timesheet All Submissions workflow on a Jobsite Timesheet Package that has been approved through a Transmittal
- Updated Transmittal Report to include standardized Titles
- Updated the default transmittal expiration to 30 days (previously 5 days).
- Update to prevent Unapprove in Jobsite Timesheet All Submissions workflow on a Jobsite Timesheet Package that has been approved through a Transmittal.
- Added the ability to Reject a Jobsite Timesheet Transmittal via email.
- Added a warning alert when submitting transmittals, showing how many days remain before the expiration date.
- Added alert in Billing when there are pending Customer Transmittals.
- Disabled Billing Adjustments when the Billable Transaction is approved through an emailed Transmittal. Note this is the same behavior as Customer Portal Approved Transmittals.
Jobsite Timesheet Report Designer
- Updated Jobsite Timesheet Report designer to support the updates to Vendor Invoices.
Daily Log
- Added the ability to create a drop-down list in the Jobsite TImesheet Daily Log Section.
Timesheets
- Defect fix re: Reduce deadlocks when saving a Jobsite Timesheet that includes surcharges or discounts alongside Timesheet Entry timings.
- Defect fix: Updated the My Timesheet Submitted Date to be the Date the Timesheet was originally submitted, versus the last modified date.
- Defect Fix: The hours status report was not showing Unsubmitted timesheets in the Unsubmitted column.
- Removed Third Party Expenses from the Timesheets area and moved it to Vendor Invoices> Third Party Expenses for Accruals or Direct to Invoice for Direct Costs when Vendor Invoice Matching is enabled.

Vendor Invoice Matching

- Added a data check to help ensure vendor invoice currency information is consistent.

- Added a new display permission for Vendor Invoices in the WBS user interface and WBS import. When the permission is enabled, the user can select the workpackage in Vendor Invoices > Third party Expenses and Direct to Invoice ‘Add Item’ workflow.

- Added the ability to add a Billable Third Party Expense to a Fixed Price and Unit Price workpackage to align with the Procurement Markup? workflow. When the workpackage is Fixed Price or Unit Price the Markup? checkbox will be deselected by default but can be manually updated by the user. When the Markup? checkbox is checked the default Markup % will be the Workpackage Third Party Markup.
